MEET OUR TEAM

Our team of skilled dentists use the latest dental innovations and technologies to provide oral health care that is easy, fast, and effective for every patient.

Dr Serge Diklitch is dedicated to providing high-quality health care at an affordable cost to both insured and uninsured patients. He offers almost all major and general dental services at no-gap to patients who have private health insurance for dentistry. He has also been advocating for dentistry to be covered by Medicare since 2002, as he has observed that many people in the community cannot access dental services.

Dr Diklitch has experience in both research and clinical dentistry, and he received the first Colgate Michael Bubb Memorial scholarship to study the use of lasers in dentistry

Low-Level LASER Therapy

At Spring Hill Dentistry, we offer Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) as an advanced medical treatment for support in wound healing. LLLT works by stimulating cellular activity through exposure to specific wavelengths of light. This stimulation promotes increased cell metabolism and proliferation, leading to improved healing outcomes.

LLLT boasts various beneficial properties, including its ability to combat bacteria, stimulate cells, promote tissue growth, and enhance haemostasis. These properties make it an effective treatment option for various dental conditions, including periodontal diseases.

Our skilled team utilises minimally invasive techniques, such as minimal flap reflection and precise incisions, to treat periodontal issues like intrabody defects. We prioritise preserving gingival aesthetics and restoring gingival health while ensuring optimal wound closure and healing.

Beyond periodontal care, LLLT can also benefit other dental specialties, such as the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders. With our comprehensive approach to dental care, we leverage advanced technologies like LLLT to provide our patients with optimal treatment outcomes and improved oral health. Trust Spring Hill Dentistry for modern treatments and personalised care.

Botox and Derma Fillers for Dentistry

At Spring Hill Dentistry, we believe in complementing not just your smile but your overall facial appearance as well. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of cosmetic treatments that go beyond traditional dental care.

Our Botox treatments are expertly administered to smooth out facial wrinkles in common problem areas such as the forehead, between the eyes, and around the lips. Not only do these treatments provide aesthetic benefits, but they can also be incredibly helpful for patients dealing with issues like TMJ disorders and facial pain.

In addition to Botox, we offer dermal filler treatments using products like Juvederm and Radiesse. These fillers are strategically injected to add volume to areas such as the lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines, effectively reducing the visible signs of aging. Whether you’re looking to plump up your lips, soften facial lines, or enhance your overall facial contours, our skilled team can tailor a treatment plan to help you achieve your desired results.

Teeth Caries Service

Teeth caries are caused by bacteria that produce acids that damage the enamel and dentine of the teeth. If left untreated, teeth caries can lead to pain, infection, tooth loss, and other complications.

At Spring Hill Dentistry, we offer a comprehensive teeth caries service to help you prevent, detect, and treat teeth caries. Our teeth caries service includes:

Prevention: We help you prevent teeth caries by providing you with oral hygiene education, fluoride treatments, sealants, and dietary advice. We teach you how to brush and floss your teeth properly, and recommend the best products and habits for your oral health. We apply fluoride to your teeth to strengthen them and protect them from acid attacks. We apply sealants to your back teeth to fill in the grooves and pits where bacteria can hide and cause decay. We also advise you on how to reduce your sugar intake and choose healthy foods and drinks for your teeth.

Detection: We help you detect teeth caries by performing regular dental check-ups and x-rays. We examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of decay, disease, or infection. We also take x-rays to see what is happening below the surface of your teeth and gums. We use the latest dental x-ray technology to provide you with safe, accurate, and comfortable imaging. We discuss any issues or concerns with you and provide you with a personalised treatment plan if necessary.

Treatment: We help you treat teeth caries by providing you with various options depending on the severity and location of the decay. We use the most effective and minimally invasive techniques to restore your teeth and relieve your pain. Some of the treatments we offer are:

  • Fillings: We remove the decayed material from your tooth and fill the cavity with a suitable material, such as composite resin, amalgam, or glass ionomer. We match the colour and shape of the filling to your natural tooth.
  • Crowns: We cover your damaged tooth with a custom-made cap, made of porcelain, metal, or a combination of both. We shape and fit the crown to your tooth to improve its appearance and function.
  • Root canals: We remove the infected pulp tissue from the root of your tooth and clean and seal the root canal. We then restore your tooth with a filling or a crown.
  • Extractions: We remove your severely decayed tooth from your mouth and replace it with an artificial tooth, such as a bridge, implant, or denture.

We are committed to providing you with high-quality teeth caries service at an affordable cost. Teeth Prevention Service

Teeth prevention service includes regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene education.

Regular check-ups: We recommend that you visit us every 6 months for a routine dental examination. We will check your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of decay, disease, or infection. We will also take x-rays if needed to see what is happening below the surface of your teeth and gums. We will discuss any issues or concerns with you and provide you with a personalised treatment plan if necessary.

Cleanings: We also recommend that you have your teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months. We will remove any plaque and tartar that have built up on your teeth and gums, which can cause cavities and gum disease. We will also polish your teeth to remove any stains and make them shine.

Fluoride treatments: Fluoride is a natural mineral that strengthens your tooth enamel and protects it from acid attacks. We will apply a fluoride gel or varnish to your teeth after your cleaning to boost your fluoride levels and prevent tooth decay.

Sealants: Sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the chewing surfaces of your back teeth (molars and premolars). They fill in the grooves and pits where food and bacteria can get trapped and cause decay. Sealants are especially beneficial for children and teenagers, as their back teeth are more prone to decay.

Oral hygiene education: We will also teach you how to take care of your teeth and gums at home. We will show you the best way to brush and floss your teeth, and advise you on the best products and habits for your oral health. We will also answer any questions you may have and give you tips on how to prevent common dental problems.

We are committed to providing you with high-quality teeth prevention service at an affordable cost. We accept most insurance policies and we offer no-gap teeth prevention service to patients who have private health insurance for dentistry. We also offer flexible payment plans and discounts to patients who do not have insurance or who need multiple teeth prevention services.

Teeth Whitening Service

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that uses bleaching agents to lighten the colour of your teeth. It can help you improve the appearance of your smile and boost your confidence. Teeth whitening can remove stains and discolouration caused by factors such as:

  • Ageing
  • Smoking
  • Coffee, tea, wine, and other beverages
  • Spicy, dark, or acidic foods
  • Certain medications

At Spring Hill Dentistry, we offer two types of teeth whitening service: in-office and at-home.

In-office teeth whitening: This is the fastest and most effective way to whiten your teeth. We use Philips Zoom! WhiteSpeed, a professional teeth whitening system that combines a powerful whitening gel with a blue LED light. This system can whiten your teeth up to 8 shades in just one hour. The procedure is simple and comfortable:

  • We protect your gums and lips with a rubber shield and a liquid latex.
  • We apply the whitening gel to your teeth and activate it with the Zoom! light.
  • We repeat the process for three 15-minute sessions.
  • We apply a fluoride gel to your teeth to reduce sensitivity and enhance the results.

At-home teeth whitening: This is a convenient and affordable way to whiten your teeth at your own pace. We provide you with a custom-made whitening tray and a low-concentration whitening gel. You can use the tray and gel at home, either during the day or at night, depending on your preference. The procedure is easy and safe:

  • We take impressions of your teeth and make a whitening tray that fits your mouth perfectly.
  • We give you the whitening gel and instructions on how to use it.
  • You fill the tray with the gel and wear it for an hour a day for 7 to 14 days, or until you achieve the desired shade.
  • You rinse your mouth and clean the tray after each use.

We recommend that you combine both types of teeth whitening service for the best results. You can start with the in-office whitening for a dramatic improvement, and then use the at-home whitening for maintenance and touch-ups.

We are committed to providing you with high-quality teeth whitening service at a reasonable cost. We accept most insurance policies and we offer no-gap teeth whitening to patients who have private health insurance for dentistry. We also offer flexible payment plans and discounts to patients who do not have insurance or who need multiple teeth whitening sessions.

We are conveniently located in the central business district of Spring Hill Dentistry at Watkins Medical Centre, Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill. We are open 7 days a week and we have free parking and public transport options nearby. To book your teeth whitening appointment, please call us at 07 3191 6682 or email us at practice@springhilldentistry.com.au. We look forward to seeing you soon and giving you a dazzling smile.

Dental X-ray Service

Dental x-rays are essential diagnostic tools that allow us to see what is happening below the surface of your teeth and gums. They help us to detect and prevent problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, infections, and bone loss. They also help us to plan and perform treatments such as root canals, implants, crowns, and braces.

We use the latest dental x-ray technology to provide you with safe, accurate, and comfortable imaging. We have different types of x-rays to suit your needs, such as:

  • OPG (Orthopantomogram): This is a panoramic x-ray that shows all the teeth of the upper and lower jaw on a single film. It is useful for assessing the number, position, and growth of the teeth, as well as the condition of the jawbone and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
  • Lat Ceph (Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph): This is a side view x-ray of the face that shows the bones and facial contours. It is useful for diagnosing and treating orthodontic problems and planning facial surgery.
  • CT (Computed Tomography): This is a 3-dimensional x-ray that shows the details of the teeth, bones, and soft tissues. It is useful for evaluating complex oral surgeries, implant placement, and other dental issues that require precise and clear imaging.

We follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to minimise your exposure to radiation. We use digital x-rays that emit up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. We also use lead aprons and thyroid collars to protect your body from unnecessary radiation. We only take x-rays when they are clinically necessary and we tailor the frequency and type of x-rays to your individual needs and risk factors.

We store your x-ray images electronically and securely in our system. We can easily access, share, and compare your images with your dentist, specialist, or insurance company. We can also print or email your images if you request them.

We are committed to providing you with high-quality dental x-ray service at an affordable cost. We accept most insurance policies and we offer no-gap x-rays to patients who have private health insurance for dentistry. We also offer flexible payment plans and discounts to patients who do not have insurance or who need multiple x-rays.

We are conveniently located in the central business district of Spring Hill Dentistry at Watkins Medical Centre, Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill. We are open 7 days a week and we have free parking and public transport options nearby. To book your dental x-ray appointment, please call us at 07 3191 6682 or email us at practice@springhilldentistry.com.au. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Root Canals

These are some of the signs that indicate you may require a root canal. They are caused by a problem in the inner part of a tooth, where the pulp tissue is located. Sometimes, bacteria can infect the pulp tissue due to an untreated cavity. As the bacteria spread, they damage the healthy tissue. The good news is that you don’t need the pulp tissue for your teeth to function. By removing the pulp tissue in the root canal procedure, we can get rid of the infection and pain and save your natural tooth.

The Root Canal Procedure

  • Dr. Diklitch prepares the tooth as he would for a cavity treatment.
  • He makes an opening to the root area and removes the pulp tissue, along with the nerves and blood vessels.
  • He sterilises the root canals with a dental solution.
  • He fills the canals with a material that blocks the bacteria from entering.
  • He restores the tooth with a strong and attractive dental crown.

By doing a root canal, Dr. Diklitch can help you keep your natural tooth and avoid an extraction. Also, the tooth is much less likely to get infected again as dental crowns are very resistant and durable.

Dr. Diklitch uses various technological tools in our office to provide our patients with effective and accurate care. He may use CAT scan technology during the root canal procedure, which gives him the best view of the canals. CT imaging can also detect infection that may not be visible otherwise, such as an abscess under the gums. The 3-dimensional view obtained with advanced CT imaging also helps him to diagnose the pulp anatomy correctly, leading to the best possible outcome from precise dental care.

We also offer dental sedation for any procedure and we are happy to talk to you about this option. We want you to feel relaxed and comfortable during your treatment. We offer oral conscious sedation, a pill that we give you to help you feel calm. You will be awake and alert, but not bothered by the stimuli in the dental office. We also offer IV sedation, which will increase your relaxation and you can sleep through your treatment.

Root canal therapy is covered by most insurance policies, as it is a necessary restorative procedure. We are glad that we can do this treatment right here in our office, saving our patients from having to go to another practice and another dental team. With two decades of practical experience and advanced training, Dr. Diklitch has treated thousands of patients with great success. We hope that you will find Spring Hill Dentistry a comfortable, welcoming practice for you and your family’s dental needs.

Gum Disease

Gum disease can be hard to notice or ignore in its early stages. But if it gets worse, it can lead to serious problems, such as loose teeth or even tooth loss! That’s why Dr. Diklitch and his friendly, professional team at Spring Hill Dentistry are dedicated to providing you with the best gum disease treatment possible. We use advanced laser technology to treat gum disease and prevent it from harming your smile.

At Spring Hill Dentistry, we offer a variety of services to help you with gum disease, such as:

Scaling and root planing therapy – Plaque is one of the main causes of gum disease. To stop bacteria from growing, we use scaling and root planing to remove plaque from your teeth and gums. This is a deep cleaning procedure that may use both manual and laser techniques. We make sure that scaling and root planing is done in a comfortable way for you.

Periodontal laser therapy – If gum disease is not treated soon enough, bacteria can damage your gums and jawbone. Severe gum disease may need surgery to prevent tooth loss. If that’s the case, we may use laser technology to perform the surgery. Laser gum surgery is very efficient and less invasive than traditional methods, resulting in less bleeding and swelling, and faster healing.

Antibiotic therapy – Sometimes, bacteria and infection go together, and you may need antibiotic therapy to improve your gum health.

Long Protect Method – We know that keeping good oral hygiene can be challenging, so we offer you a great solution to fight oral bacteria. It’s the Long Protect Method. After we do scaling and root planing, we will give you the Long Protect Method as a follow-up and oral hygiene maintenance plan. This system gives you the simplest, least invasive and most effective ways to treat gum disease. Our patients love how their mouths feel clean every day and how their teeth look brighter and their breath smells fresher.

Dental Implants

Dental implants allow you to replace one or more teeth, overcome the limitations of dentures, and enjoy a confident smile that is tailored to your needs.

The Dental Implant Procedure

The first step is to determine if you are eligible for dental implants. The surgical procedure will require several visits to complete.

Here is what you can expect:

Evaluation: Your dentist will examine your bone and gum tissue to assess the space and bone density available for the implant. You may need a bone graft if your bone is insufficient.

Surgery: The dental implant procedure consists of two stages, performed under sedation and local anesthesia. The surgery involves inserting the implant into the jawbone. The post that will support the artificial tooth is usually attached to the implant at this stage, along with a temporary tooth.

Healing: It may take several months for the surgery site to heal fully. Be patient – your mouth needs to heal properly and the implant needs to fuse with the jawbone. Your dentist will check your progress regularly.

Fitting: When the implant has successfully integrated with the jaw, the temporary tooth will be replaced with a permanent one. This restoration is fixed, looks natural, and improves the appearance and function of your smile.
